Speaker 2:I really like the um. You know how you can respond to an emoji.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and now you can do any you know, like how you can respond to an emoji yeah, and now you can do any.
Speaker 2:you know, like how you before it was thumbs up, thumbs down, ha ha ha. Excellent, now you can do any emoji when you respond back to somebody.
Speaker 1:I do like that.
Speaker 2:Huh.
Speaker 1:I do like that.
Speaker 2:I'm a quick responder when it comes to that. You know, my wife, she goes shopping, she hit me up with something. I'll give her the thumbs up, the thumbs down. You know, make it quick, that works for me, that's in my favor.
Speaker 1:You know what man you got to have the easy in and easy out, right.
Speaker 2:That's my whoa, that's my lifestyle right there.
Speaker 1:So welcome back to that's delivered. This is the podcast where we talk about trucking, life and all the crazy stuff in between. I'm your host, ray, and uh, ray, uh, I got my main man here, fantastic guy, maddie g uh, in the place to be how you doing, maddie uh, highly blessed and extremely favored.
Speaker 2:Is that what Chathamain says? He says something like that.
Speaker 1:I like it. Man, You're blessed.
Speaker 2:Blessed beyond belief.
Speaker 1:I'm blessed. So yeah, man, a lot of people still talking about that. Jake Paul and Tyson fight Woo. So yeah, man, you know a lot of people still talking about that jake paul and, uh, tyson fight this is a very good uh this was a very good um learning point for your kids.
Speaker 2:That's what I took away from it what about?
Speaker 1:what about the learning point for the kids? What?
Speaker 2:do you mean very good educational. Sometimes when you lose you really win yeah and sometimes, you know, I mean he walked away with 20 million dollars. Man, come on yeah you think he lost?
Speaker 1:no, how old is he?
Speaker 2:58 58.
Speaker 1:58 is 58. He, uh, he's a good 58, I thought he was, I was proud of him, could you?
Speaker 2:imagine him matching up against other 58 year olds.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, yeah, I mean. I mean, what do you think? Did you think he was trying to dodge some of the the hits, or Because he was biting the glove and stuff?
Speaker 2:I'm not getting into all that bro.
Speaker 1:I'm not.
Speaker 2:I'm not buying that, that speculation.
Speaker 1:Yeah, man, he was dodging it. The speculator, the speculator.
Speaker 2:You see the dude. Come back, walk back to the ring after the round. Man, he could barely the last round. He could barely get out. He looked 58 at that point. No, I don't think it was. Uh, I'm not doing all that. I'm not saying he was dodging the other guy was. You know, at one point they were saying that jake paul was holding back on him yeah, they both was trying to figure it out. It was both holding back, huh.
Speaker 1:Oh man.
Speaker 2:I, uh, you know, for me. You know, I heard a lot of people. Everybody had something to say about it, whether it was the, the, the quality of the stream with Netflix, and all that jazz, and whatever else they were talking about. What else was it? They weren't trying, or Jake Paul. Whatever they were saying, it was still nice to see Mike Tyson back in the ring after all these years. I enjoyed it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was good.
Speaker 2:I enjoyed it.
Speaker 1:They had their the speculators. They got to come out. They got to come out. Man, it's just after something's over, it's just. Ah, that was rigged.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that should be the new Warren G song. Speculators Bound up. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1:It's time for the speculators.
Speaker 2:It's time for the speculators. It's time for the speculators. And then the background. You got the key, the keyboards, typing it's time for the speculators. Yeah, I thought you're right on with that one yeah, yeah, I don't know um, but you know also you it's, it was a free fight, you you know I mean it could have been some some you know shady deals going on, because it was free.
Speaker 1:Right.
Speaker 2:I remember I told this before I remember my dad or we used to go to someone's house and watch the fight. They used to get so upset. You spent $80 of your hard-earned money back then and Tyson destroyed a dude before the first wing girl come out.
Speaker 1:That was it right there. They was happy, but they were more mad about it was over in the first round.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I better get my money back.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that was a big deal, I mean pay-per-view was expensive.
Speaker 2:Oh, yeah, yeah, and back then you know hundred dollars. Whatever it was, that was a. That was a little more than it is now oh yeah but then back then you had the cheater box, the pirate boxes. Yeah, you had a couple heads come over to drop on that yeah, one more time you had to have a couple heads come over and drop on that. Hey, you want to come over and drop on that for me?
Speaker 1:oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, turn on the big tv and and uh watch them all together.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I got the wide screen. Yeah, I got that big old tube television. Yeah, the 32 man I got the widescreen. Yeah, I got that big old tube television.
Speaker 1:Yeah, the 32, man, I got the 32-inch.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's awesome. I thought it was good. I thought it was good. Like I said, I like Tyson. It was very good to hear him get such high praise when he came into the ring. After all he's been through. I ain't going to get into the whole Robin thing, robin Gibbons, I don't know what you know, I ain't getting into that. I'm just saying you know, the guy's been through the ringer.
Speaker 1:Yeah, the Holy Ghost.
Speaker 2:He's still standing.
Speaker 1:Yeah. And you know it's nice to see they had a lot of biting ear jokes.
Speaker 2:They what.
Speaker 1:They had a lot of bite in the ear jokes.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, that commentator, man he was.
Speaker 1:They said Jake Paul wore a guard over his ear. There was some diamonds and stuff.
Speaker 2:Really.
Speaker 1:Yeah, the box that he wore was super expensive, like a million.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the trunks and the boots were a million dollars the most expensive boxing outfit worn and that dude probably still ended up selling those things yeah, yeah, he's a businessman I actually liked what he had to say. You know he comes off extremely arrogant, but after the fight, when he speaking, I thought he sounded very well thought out and polite, giving thanks to the soldiers, the police officers he even hit up them truck drivers.
Speaker 1:That's the living baby. He was doing it. I said go ahead, do your thing.
Speaker 2:Go ahead, Jake Paul.
Speaker 1:Do that? Do that? Yeah, so, man, moving on, I was thinking to talk about a little something about the Jordan shoes man, the retros and all that. You know the shoe game is still going, you know yeah it's still going.
Speaker 2:I don't know. I don't know if it's as strong as it was on the resale, but they got some shoe stores out there.
Speaker 1:I went in one and they had a shoe for $400, some for $600. All right, man, they're not coming down. Yeah, I don't know. $1,000.
Speaker 2:Oh, I'm sure the ones that are out there that I like that. The rare ones, the rare, you know limited releases. It's kind of funny you're bringing this up. I was actually watching a guy today buy Jordans as a bot.
Speaker 1:Really.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and how he was. Uh, he was talking about how he's received death threats for doing this.
Speaker 1:What.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Because he, you know, people don't think it's fair what he's doing. Um, so I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 1:You changed the game a little bit too much.
Speaker 2:Well, he, the analogy he used was like it was kind of out of left field but it was spot on, but it was a little much. His analogy was and I don't know if he even knows that this was actually his analogy was actually real at one point baseball, but he goes. So just imagine everyone else is using steroids and you're not.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Are you going to get mad that you can't be as successful as everyone? That is, yeah, that's the way I'm. I don't know. It's not that serious for me to get to have a be a bot. I've realized everything that I needed to buy I can probably get, and then, on a release date or stock X I think they're pretty comparable and you know a lot of these last couple ones have came down. I know the last couple of releases that I've gotten. If I resold them I'd probably lose money on them.
Speaker 1:Oh. I mean, I'm thinking about the bot thing, man. People are using that chat GPT too. Man, you know you're not using that. You almost feel like you're getting left behind too.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I uh yeah. I want to feel like I'm left behind. I'll just stay at home.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I know man.
Speaker 2:That's uh.
Speaker 1:Stay safe.
Speaker 2:Well, what do you think about the shoe game Stay?
Speaker 1:safe. What do you think about the shoe game? I think it's amazing at the same time that people want to pay that price for those shoes, but at the same time I think it's ridiculous. Some of those shoes don't look like they're worth all that. I mean, it looks like there's some of them that put a lot of work into the details, but man, I don't know $1,000? To the details. But man, I don't know a thousand dollars. That's just, I think. I think the price will start to come down a little bit, but people still holding on to the prices, and so it must be moving some units, I think, man.
Speaker 2:So I don't know watch the price goes up. With less units available, so less less. You know supply and demand. That's why nike's always gotten so much slack is because they limited. They put out such a limited amount of these shoes to make the price go up so high for resale and create that market. But I heard that yeezys are dead now.
Speaker 2:That's what I heard recently, you know, but uh, yeah, you only can wear a pair at a time. That's something my dad would say wow, you only can wear one pair at a time right, well, yeah, why you need all them shoes for boy? Oh man, here's another one what else we got going on yeah.
Speaker 1:So I got to go to Mexico and I was down there and they had this Pepsi Black. I was like man, this looks different. It looks like Pepsi Zero Sugar. Um, you seen any Pepsi Black out there?
Speaker 2:is it all Pepsi Black? Is it, is it all black, or is it the summer? I mean, I I know they had to clear pepsi once, but you know, uh, I thought it was all glasses. Well yeah, I'm a little colorblind, I ain't gonna lie, but uh, yeah, well, I yeah, I don't know Pepsi Black.
Speaker 1:Pepsi Black is a marketing thing. And then there's Pepsi Zero Sugar. So here in the United States they don't use that name that much, maybe in some areas, but I know in Minnesota they use Pepsi Zero Sugar. So I come back and there's like Pepsi Zero Sugar everywhere. But I did try it down there. I tasted it.
Speaker 2:It was in my hotel room and it tastes just like coke, you know really yeah because I know Pepsi kind of always used to leave that film on my teeth, if I you know yep they don't want to change that because some people really like that.
Speaker 1:They like the way that Pepsi tastes, so they don't want to mess with it. Some people really like that. They like the way that Pepsi tastes, so they don't want to mess with it. So they were able to change the flavor in different regions.
Speaker 2:Wow, really.
Speaker 1:And down in Mexico, coke is really strong. They made it taste like Coke. Yeah, I thought that was cool.
Speaker 2:I wonder if the copyright infringement is different. The ingredients, the recipe varies in different regions on what you can use and can't use.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I figured I'd just say I thought I'd bring it up. It's, you know, for trucking. You know we used to distribute that stuff. I mean, keep your eye out for it. If you travel, look out there for the Pepsi Black, give it a try. See if it tastes like Coke. Give it a little challenge.
Speaker 1:Well, look out there for the Pepsi Black. Give it a try, see if it tastes like Coke. Give it a little challenge. Well, didn't Coke have a Black or something like that? I don't know. Pepsi's always changing their marketing. They push different stuff, like that Mountain Dew more than Coke. Coke comes out with all that Jerry Coke stuff. I guess they just do zero. Yeah, they got the zero Pepsi calls it zero sugar.
Speaker 2:I just want to know what's the equivalent or the meaning to black you know, what I mean.
Speaker 1:It's diet.
Speaker 2:Diet means black and died.
Speaker 1:If it was in the United States there's going to be some scrutiny why you got to call it black. If it was here in the United States, there's going to be some scrutiny. I said well why you got to call it black.
Speaker 2:Yeah, if you said, man, this is Mountain Dew black man, I wouldn't say, oh man, give me that diet. I wouldn't have any idea. Yeah, I just know that it ain't white Because it's black.
Speaker 1:I was like man that's.
Speaker 2:That's different marketing uh, just something to look at, but um, yeah, and I haven't really enjoyed a pop and I don't know how long I did.
Speaker 1:Well, you got it on like coke and rum, so I did the pepsi and rum yeah, I haven't had a pop in a while.
Speaker 2:It's probably being a little closer than I think it was, but I do like every once in a while and I guess this is pop if we go out to eat and they got the fountain pop. I'm a sucker for the Sprite with the lemonade mixture. That's my jam.
Speaker 1:Sprite with the lemonade mixture.
Speaker 2:Yeah, take some Sprite and then some lemonade. That's how I do that, though.
Speaker 1:That sounds good, man. Another thing that's peaking the interest for a lot of people is the bitcoin man. Right now, that thing is highest ever it's been man, you know, and I ran and told my wife when it was down to like 19,000. I said we should just, you know, take out a loan.
Speaker 2:Buy one.
Speaker 1:I just you know, or just put it on something.
Speaker 2:What is it? A hundred grand right now. They said.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it would have paid it off and I would have had all that left over. I did have the hunch to do it, but I didn't do it, you know, because that sounded reckless.
Speaker 2:I did have the hunch to do it, but I didn't do it, you know, because that sounded reckless. So it went up to. It went up that high In a couple of days a couple of years. Oh, you said 19. So I thought you said 19. This weekend you were down there and it was 19.
Speaker 1:Oh no, it was a couple of years back here.
Speaker 2:I remember being 63.
Speaker 1:It was down there.
Speaker 2:yeah, I don't know, and it's still like what can you do with it?
Speaker 1:yeah they do got those bitcoin some people buy it from you, you know.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's at 98,000 yeah, I was actually just listening to the Charles Schwab business trading and that was on there.
Speaker 1:So here and what's the date on this here Charles Schwab, business trading, and that was on there. So here and what's the date on this here? March 2020. It was $5,000. Right, you know, when the pandemic hit, $5,000. You could have got a Bitcoin for $5,000 and today it would be close to $100,000. $5,000 and today it would be close to $100,000 and $400,000.
Speaker 2:I don't even really want to know that. You can buy a partial of a coin, though, can't you?
Speaker 1:oh yeah, you can buy all kinds of fractions of it, go in there and put $10 in there and put $10 in there.
Speaker 2:Sure, I mean, even if you would have bought half of it, you would have still been Gucci.
Speaker 1:Right, yeah, screw it up on that one. Yeah, um, right, during that pandemic that was a good time, but you know 5,000, who had 5,000 just laying around your average Joe during the pandemic.
Speaker 2:That's STEMI. How many people do you think bought their STEMI? They made a coin with that STEMI check.
Speaker 1:See, I went and got LASIK Screwed up on that one huh, I went and bought some Jordan.
Speaker 2:I said I went and bought some Jordan. I'm joking.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh man, oh yeah, I wonder what I did do with the stiff.
Speaker 2:I actually think we went on vacation, we went on a road trip.
Speaker 1:It's really hard to see 40s on the road man. We thought we were all going to be wearing masks forever.
Speaker 2:Wow, some people still do.
Speaker 1:Yeah, never see their face.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the faceless man, that dude. You could see a person. If you knew him for the last four years, he could be on America's Most Wanted 10-person list. You'd have no idea. You've been in there with that joke every day.
Speaker 1:Just walking around amongst us.
Speaker 2:Yeah, man, you want to come over for dinner tonight.
Speaker 1:The mask on.
Speaker 2:The mask on yeah.
Speaker 1:So yes, also speaking of cash, a lot of truckers, a lot of trucking companies, have been weathering the storm with this recession. It's been going on with them. Right now, A lot of trucking companies are in recession.
Speaker 2:Yeah, well, yeah, heavy machinery stocks up right now across the board. I know I was thinking I mean what is that?
Speaker 1:I mean a lot of these heavy machines get hauled by a semi truck yeah so, uh, yeah, I don't know what that is going to look like but International trade, combined with geopolitical conflicts and economic uncertainty, created a challenging business environment for the world's largest transportation and logistics providers last year. An overwhelming majority of the companies that appear experienced declines in their revenue last year, in many cases by wide margins. So they've been fighting this for a while. You know, you got rivals like FedEx and UPS. They're going at it, but they continue to make profit. There's USPS they're also trying to make a profit. Dhl, that big DHL group, that's um, they're also trying to weather the storm. Numbers like JB Hunt they, uh, they're trying to hang in there too. They're all in the club. 50 freight companies endure global trade slump.
Speaker 2:That makes sense. Every damn division besides the tanker. I can't even keep up with what they got going on.
Speaker 1:They got the yeah.
Speaker 2:I can't even keep up with what they got going on. Yeah, I don't know if they're doing it, but they got a lot of stuff out there.
Speaker 1:People like their stocks because their stocks look good, people like that because they don't have any. All those contractors are running around.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they're strong. Yeah, I know they ain't like us.
Speaker 1:You know these big players are sweating. It's like a heavyweight boxing match, right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, do you think that's going to? You know, turn around now, you know, with the election being over and all that stuff, and then with him being in office, I see that one of his top things on the agenda to do is, you know, I forgot what the word's called, but it's.
Speaker 1:President of Terrorists.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's it. That's the word right there.
Speaker 1:Well, they put Elon Musk in charge of efficiency. So uh, he's also out there saying that he wants um people to come back to the office and they said people are at home. Aren't very productive.
Speaker 2:How random is that, though? I mean think about that, elon Musk. I mean, come on.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they say he's a gift to mankind.
Speaker 2:Yeah, okay, he can't use my saying. That's what I say, he took it. I'm going to call myself better than that.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I mean and I know I might sound silly I know he might have dual citizenship, but is he even really a United States citizen?
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, he is he is huh All right. He's from South Africa. He just doesn't have birthrights here.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Don't be getting mad at me anybody. I know, he is one strange looking dude.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Man, oh man.
Speaker 1:You got that money, boy. You look real good to a lot of folks.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's why he's rich, because so many people paid him money to put his clothes on.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, he like me.
Speaker 2:He had one of them, little pair of drawers on I've seen them on I don't know Did some picture they had of him. I said what?
Speaker 1:Yeah, don't, yeah. Just go on to the next picture I had half of that money.
Speaker 2:I look like money.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know. Yeah, that's what the Jeff Bezos guy he be trying. You can see him trying, but it ain't working, but is trying.
Speaker 2:Yeah, must is a must.
Speaker 1:He gave a lot of money to the homeless people Also. You know, they got that charity where they just start making it rain on stuff. Yeah, you got to get rid of it because they make the books.
Speaker 2:Those aren't charity places that they go to, bro, make it rain. Those are, those are.
Speaker 1:Those are homeless people bro, that ain't the soup kitchen. That's not the soup kitchen.
Speaker 2:Oh, those aren't homeless people bro, that's not the soup kitchen. Oh come on. It's because those people don't got clothes on, Don't be they homeless, bro? Yeah they say he's dropping them. Making their life. Yeah, that's. Uh, yeah, I don't know that's it.
Speaker 1:Huh yeah, yeah, just try to get out there. And you know, keep spreading the word. Uh, trucking is still here to stay.
Speaker 2:Um, we can weather the storm, you know, like Mike Tyson woo wee yeah, that dude did 16 minutes was it 16 or 18, something like that and got 20 million dollars Woo-wee and that dude did 16 minutes Was it 16 or 18?
Speaker 1:Something like that and got $20 million All that money in one night. Yeah, that was a major event too. And Jake Paul, he owns that promotion. He's got ownership of that promotion company that also put it on, so he gets money from that. He's getting the $40 million. He's getting probably some advertisement thrown his way.
Speaker 2:When Netflix paid, I heard a reported $80 million for the fight Whoa, I believe that was. So the fact that it was not a pay-per-view event. I wasn't necessarily sure how they were going to receive their money back, but I'm assuming you had multiple people buy a subscription that didn't have one before.
Speaker 1:Yeah, there's that too. Or if you had to upscale to before.
Speaker 2:Yeah, there's that too. Or if you had an upscale to get it, I don't know if you had to do that and they say it's a test.
Speaker 1:They want to try to test it out for other stuff too. Um, they're trying to get into more stuff like maybe the super bowl and all that too the super bowl.
Speaker 2:Huh, yeah, man, there'd be a lot of people with a broken tv if what was going on that day I heard it was pretty bad. I uh, I didn't have no problem, but yeah, I heard a lot of people were upset all right, man, you stay easy out there.
Speaker 1:Got anything for the people?
Speaker 2:Nah, just let's keep going.
Speaker 1:Let's keep on going 2024. Here it comes, baby 2024 coming to an end. We got to go turn the chapter 2025.
Speaker 2:New Year's resolutions coming up.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:There we go.
Speaker 1:I appreciate you. Thanks for the time man.
Speaker 2:I appreciate it Always cool.
Speaker 1:All right, bro, take care.
Speaker 2:Follow.
