What's up everybody? Welcome back to another episode of that's Delivered, the podcast where we talk about trucking safety, sometimes a little pop culture, Because, let's be real, truckers got to be entertained too. I'm your host, Truckin' Ray, and as always I have my guy Matty G. Matty G how you doing today, Doing good what up, Truckin' Ray, and as always I have my guy Matty G. Matty G how you doing today.
Speaker 1:I'm doing good. What up Truckin' Ray?
Speaker 2:Yeah, man, getting it done, Putting it in the work, trying to get it happening for all the people out there. You know, got a packed show. Talk about Love's Truck Stop. They're adding like 20 new locations. Cargo theft is at an all-time high and some truckers are getting recognized for incredible things right here in minnesota. So we're also touching some of the pop culture. You got billy ray cyrus calling them out, demi moore's uh, you know the oscar nomination and some hate on her. And of course, we're looking at some of the golden globe vendors.
Speaker 2:Um, before we get into all that, let's talk about some something serious. You know these, these wildfires, these storms that hit in southern california. I got family friends out there and I know a lot of drivers do too. So let's start with that. Oh, I'm gonna take a second to talk about the crazy weather in southern california right now. Uh, we've got massive wildfires burning um now. But to make things worse, heavy rain is coming. That means mudslides, road closures and just all around dangerous situation there for the roads. Um, I got family friends out there. I know a lot of truckers are listening. They have family out there as well. Have you driven through the wildfires and extreme weather like this you know um. What do you think about it? Maddie g, what do you think?
Speaker 1:well, I mean it's uh, could you ever think of a time where you want to, that you're praying for rain, but then you don't want rain due to all the other stuff that's going on, the landslides, and you know? I mean it's just a uh, it's an all-around bad situation. Talk about a perfect storm. I don't mean to, you know, poke any fun at it, because it's obviously a very situation, but yeah, it's pretty sad. I mean I don't know, uh, I don't know what they're gonna do. I mean, uh, people are losing their lives. I mean, could you imagine coming home and your whole house is just in flames?
Speaker 2:yeah, my heart goes out to the firefighters out there, man. They're probably working around the clock, and a lot of hard workers out there, man.
Speaker 1:It's uh pretty crazy yeah, they're bringing, uh bringing people in from all over the place. I mean, the insurance companies don't even have enough money to pay for all this stuff.
Speaker 2:Yeah, some of them, don't some of them, yeah, and then I, I mean, did we?
Speaker 1:I know a few weeks ago some guy was arrested, but now they're saying I don't, I'm not sure, one way or another. If the guy set the fires, it kind of seemed like it was. I heard one thing but then heard the other, so I really don't even know how they began.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, it says there was a fire they were trying to put out and they were able to roll back the cameras and check the aerial view and see if there was any fires nearby that had started earlier, that were smaller, and they can take a look at that through a time-lapse. And there was a fire that went out per se and they don't have the budget to sit there and babysit it and it must've started back up. So that's how some of that started, at least that's their claim. So we'll see as time goes on, what's the scariest weather you've been through as a truck driver.
Speaker 1:Oh, as a truck driver. Yeah you been through as a truck driver? Oh, as a truck driver, yeah, I had to be going to south dakota a few years ago. Just sheer ice, empty trailer wind, uh, that was, uh probably probably the most memorable because you know just where I was going and what I had on me no weight.
Speaker 1:But uh, going to north dakota has been pretty scary too a few times right and they got a turn there that I was kind of like it kind of reminds me of uh, uh, the turn like at the uh, like when you go into those turns and those pitches, and I was sitting there with the set and on all ice and I just started sliding inwards on that, uh, on that in bank there, and it was um, yeah what about that time you got escorted?
Speaker 1:oh, I, yeah, I forgot all about that. I was, uh, where I was at.
Speaker 1:I was up north, somewhere up north and northern minnesota, and I had, again an empty set going up a hill and there was a stop sign in the middle of this hill and didn't have any no wait, so I couldn't get up the hill and I kind of had a guy got. I had again I'm gonna police escort out of the, out of the town. There they had a salt truck coming. That salt truck got right up next to me and he was able to manipulate, point his auger, his salt or sand auger, directly underneath the tractor and trailer and and I followed him out of town up the hill. Yeah, that was. Uh, I forgot about that one, thanks for bringing that one up.
Speaker 2:Yeah, man, I was got some good stories there. Yeah, I mean, uh, mud sides and flooding and fires uh, definitely a game changer for the transportation world. Hopefully, uh, people get what they need out there, get their food, their supplies. There's a lot of things that people need that comes on a truck and the only thing that makes it worse is the weather. Right, the weather is you can't. You can't challenge the weather. It's going to do what it's going to do.
Speaker 1:You can't make it rain, you can't make it not rain. You know, you look at. You look at firefighters and not to put, you know, truck drivers in the same category as a firefighter.
Speaker 2:But you know they're running in the building when everyone's coming out. You know the weatherman tells you you know, no travel tonight.
Speaker 1:That don't mean you're getting off of work, that means you, you know you're still going out there and traveling.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you got to play it safe too. You know I hear a lot of people saying you just pull the truck over, you don't have to push so hard. It's a mindset. You know a lot of truckers. They want to keep going. But if you can't make it work, pull the truck over. Wait for the conditions to get better. If you're out there trucking to California, please be careful, check the routes, stay updated on closures and don't take risks.
Speaker 2:And to everyone dealing with this, whether you're a driver out there, a resident you know in that area, someone loves you out there, resident you know in that area, uh, someone loves you out there. So our thoughts are thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Man, you know people are putting in the work to also donate, uh, to care for the cause or something, putting on concerts or they're doing it. They're doing it, trying to raise that money. So there's enough money out there. Yeah, I gotta put it up right. Share the love. Speaking of love, favorite truck stop loves is expanding. That's my go-to stop when I'm out there on the road. I like the Love's, especially the new ones. They got a lot of updated stuff. You know those shower rooms and everything, man, they're on point I like how clean they are. Yeah, right, I would hope they don't let that go, yeah.
Speaker 1:I like a clean place, place named loves, and it's nasty.
Speaker 2:Ooh, it ain't no love. It ain't no love and they ain't going to get no love. Yeah, so some of the good news loves is expanding 20 locations In 2025, this means more parking spots, you know, I know that's a big issue in America. So the more we have places to park, the easier our job is. The more food options we have. We want to stay healthy while we're out there on the road. So any place that's supporting good food habits, why don't we support them back by buying the good food? If we go there and we still buy the junk, well, they're going to think, hey, this is what sells. I'm going to keep putting more of this on the shelf. But if we go there and we get some of that good stuff, just a little tip out there, if we go out there and get some good food, maybe they'll keep adding to it. They'll see how you do some stuff.
Speaker 1:Some vegetable kebabs.
Speaker 2:Vegetable kebabs. Ooh, yeah, yeah, some stir fries and stuff out there.
Speaker 1:Ooh, I'd like a stir fry.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you just go through and pick your items and then throw it on the grill and head out the door. Man, that'd be amazing.
Speaker 1:Ooh, wee, yeah, kind of like a little. Uh, you know, uh, what is that? The Chinese place where they fry your food up in front of you.
Speaker 2:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:You do that, hibachi truck stop, wow, and it just came up. What's up?
Speaker 2:Yeah, hibachi truck stop Ain't even got to sit down. Just pick your bowl up, load it up, throw it on the grill and head out the door. Wow, yeah, that sounds good. Yeah, a lot of the crock pot companies won't like that man. They'd be like hey, what are you guys doing? I mean love's taking over, here we go.
Speaker 1:Might've just gave him an idea we want that kickback loves.
Speaker 2:Yeah, man. So if you had options, you know, let's put it out there. Do a poll with truck, stop where you're, you know you're pulling in. Um, if you had those options, what, which one would you pick? Uh, I go to love's ta, probably last. They're trying to change the game. Now they change the thing, man.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I feel I get what you're saying, stepping it up, you know, uh, and you know they're not on the list but and it's kind of more of a midwest thing, but maybe I shouldn't say this, but the quick trip is in the mix yeah, they out there, right, you're, you're right, you're right. They're in the mix. I don't know if they got the showers and all that, but I like a good quick trip.
Speaker 2:I'm a sucker for a good chicken sandwich. Nice, yeah, we don't have many loves in Minnesota. What's the number one thing you look for at a truck stop?
Speaker 1:Well, first is cleanliness. I like a clean place. I need no food where it looked like this thing could have possibly been stir fried on the floor. You know I need a clean bathroom, well lit it, well light. You know like you know nice lights. You don't want to go out to the parking lot. Half of the roll of the lights is off. I'm not looking for no sketch place. I don't want no sketchiness.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you don't want to pull in and then worry about your rig with your equipment. Yeah, you know, and then, uh, you know how they clean their other.
Speaker 1:You know this goes in the cleans in this parking lot and a lot of that's on the drivers. You know you got to pick up, you got to take your trash. We all know you can use a little exercise, ain't gonna hurt you to walk across the parking lot. I understand you might got your flip flops on and your baby toes looking a little, a little little in need of a little pedicure, but uh, you can afford to walk across the parking lot and put the trash in the back in the reception, right?
Speaker 2:I mean what's going on? I mean you got people just throwing trash on the side of the curb in such a hurry you can't get out. How bad do you want it to be? If you wanted to be clean, you got to be clean. You know, falling out the door and stuff, that's's not good. Yeah, that's.
Speaker 1:Well then, on that note too, I mean, if you're like that, imagine what the inside of your truck look like. You might as well just dump the trash in your truck.
Speaker 2:Yeah, man, I've seen this one video where the guy said he went on vacation, came back, slept in the berth and now his legs is all messed up for my trucking and left some bugs with it.
Speaker 1:yeah, that's a gift right there that's yeah, hopefully he's just not lying. He didn't have a little visitor in there. Brunson bed bugs oh a lot of attendance.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, that wouldn't be good, right? Yeah, man, human trafficking is for real yeah, so that's what I live for.
Speaker 1:I'd like a. You know I need a clean place, well secure. You know I don't want to look like I'm in a third world country.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you want to roll in, show progress, be a part. Be a part of that progress yourself. Help people do their job as well by being a clean person and expecting clean things. So I like that man. Cargo theft it's at an all timetime high. There's a lot of cargo theft going on out there. Folks just taking theirs and not looking back. I mean it's nuts. They're saying a 27% increase in 2024. That's the highest it's been in years. We've heard all kinds of stories guys getting jacked or man they're just at rest stops, thieves cutting through trailer locks, running off with the stuff, or even fake pickup scams. You know people making their own labels and putting it on the boxes, or changing the bill of lading address so that they're delivering to the wrong place and then all of a sudden, before they know it, it's all gone. What do you think, matty G, in a situation where someone's trying to steal your load, what would you do?
Speaker 1:You already know, I think you set me up here. I think this is a setup. I'm not dying for nobody else's stuff. I just know that I just and I don't want this to come across as you know, uh. But uh, you know these. Unfortunately, these criminals out here are playing for keeps nowadays, meaning that, you know, I know, a long time ago, you know, historically a guy that was stealing necessarily wasn't looking to shoot you. But nowadays these guys are playing by a different code they'll shoot you for anything. So, uh, I'm sorry, I might have, I might have something of my own in this truck.
Speaker 1:I'm delivering that's coming to my house and uh I'm sorry, but I'm not dying for uh, a truck of uh. I'm not dying, you can have it, but I will play the scenario don't climb on the truck, don't I will. You know, it all depends the scenario. I won't climb up. You climb on the truck. Well, if all depends on the scenario, I won't climb up, you climb on the truck. Well, if you climb on the truck I probably couldn't get away. I mean, hit those brakes and get you off, but I mean I ain't going to accelerate too far. You know, we talked about this before. There should be some type of hostile takeover training in trucking.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:I mean, can you believe the way that the world's been going and how just ruthless everybody is that it's been this long to um to for freight theft to rise? I mean, it's uh. You look at all the old mobster movies. These guys were robbing semi-trucks full of cigarettes back in the day. You know, I don't know how much that was true, but I'm assuming some of it was true. They got it from somewhere, but you know that was a thing yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 2:I don't know. I mean, you ever had a close call where something seemed off and you just was like man, you know, I don't know, I don't know about the situation. You ever had a situation like that? Uh, not with trucking, no, nobody with gunshots or anything like that.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, yeah I've had, uh, yeah I don't know if he shot.
Speaker 1:He didn't shoot, but he, uh, this was years ago delivering over to north minneapolis, uh, a known stop that was known to have gunshots through the front door in the cooler ice chest outside. I remember backing in there and all of a sudden we um, I heard some noise and there was a bus in front of us and the bus, everybody ran out of the bus and you could see there there was a chaotic scene and everybody started running out the doors and there was a guy coming out with the gun on the bus and I remember slipping out the driver's side door and running to the back of the trailer. Needless to say, stop didn't get they stuffed that day, so that I mean, as far as me personally being in a hot no I've seen some stuff, but but no, I yeah you ain't going to be doing too much robbing.
Speaker 1:If you come in and get something, I'm driving because you can have it.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:There's no resistance within me.
Speaker 2:They can replace that stuff, but they can't replace Matty G. Man, let's keep it real out there. Anybody in the truck can take care of yourself.
Speaker 1:Well, and you know, it sounds like a lot of this stuff is inside people, like you know, inside jobs. You know people telling people how things could go down, what could happen. You know, I mean you're driving this trailer, let's be real. I mean you could have nothing in here or you could have something in here.
Speaker 2:These criminals have to know what's in what you're delivering.
Speaker 2:So the person loading that will know exactly what's in there, wouldn't he? Yeah, and all they got to do is have your trailer number right, yeah, yeah. So why don't these companies do more to protect drivers from theft? Help to protect them, like you said, educating them, bring awareness to look out for individuals that may be, you know, like I said, sketchy, or or you know, hey, let's, uh, let's keep an eye out for these individuals, try to protect each other, because we're all out here trying to get a job done. We're like family. Let's look out for each other. Um, that's not true.
Speaker 1:I just don't know how you would monitor it due to the sheer numbers of trailers out here. I mean, there's so much freight being moved at once I don't know.
Speaker 2:I mean well, I mean they definitely, um, they're hiring people non-stop without a whole lot of, whole lot of background check.
Speaker 1:Well, or if they make it a federal offense because, like you know, since we we do, we'll go under a dot license, uh, which is a government you know. You know I mean the, the um restrictions are government. You know guidelines and then if you mess with that, you're messing with a government official yeah, you think about a lot of the information that's in the truck.
Speaker 2:Um, it's just like if somebody were to damage a mailbox. You know, yeah, steal somebody's mail, right. So I mean, yeah, it should be, it should be enforced.
Speaker 1:Uh, protection, I mean we go to a lot of places dark at night. Um, you know, I went to a place a couple weeks ago that I mean, it was, uh, it was in the middle of nowhere and it was, you know, 11 o'clock at night. I mean, uh, if somebody wanted to come and do something to me there and he wasn't willing to listen to reason, I would have been froze to death and just left there.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you bring your blankets with you and everything so you can be warm out here in this negative 40 degree weather, and then all of a sudden you got to let your stuff go. Well, hopefully you can grab your cell phone on your way out so you can get some help. And you're not just out there in your short pants yeah, that'd be man. I don't know why they're doing that. I don't even know why they let that happen. Yeah, out there in your short pants, because you know you're cool and all.
Speaker 1:but you're running hot, you're cool you're running hot but you're really cold. You only can fake so much stuff so far. I don't care what you do. You can wear the short pants and lip man. There's no way, unless you're Superman and you're just posing as a driver.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you get robbed. You got to get out that truck and you got the short pants on and you got to do some walking. It might be a little bit. Hopefully you got some good circulation. Yeah, you don't worry about me, I know I ain't got to worry about you. I mean, just think about the miles that we put on Minnesota truck, that we put on Minnesota Truck Driving of the Year. This guy did 4 million safe miles. 4 million, that's the driver of the year. He was nominated and yeah, we got to be real proud of these truckers out here putting in the work. He was awarded that and I'm sure the company's proud of him. How many safe driving miles do you think you've racked up so far? I was thinking about that.
Speaker 2:Actually not too long ago, and I think a million miles is a lot more than we think it is.
Speaker 1:I don't know. Yeah, this driver here he comes from, uh, detroit lakes, minnesota, roger zema, that ain't fair. Anywhere he go, he got to get a million miles. He's a million miles away from every damn thing yeah, he put in the work man to go to the store, you got to get a million miles. Yeah, that's a yeah dang. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2:That's. Uh, I'm playing. Yeah, a million miles is a million miles, four million is four million. Yeah, I'm starting to hear that he uh. So what is that? Like a gold hammer or something? No, he gets a plaque with a semi on it. It looks really nice, it's laid out and it's got his name on there. It's got MTA. He gets a jacket with his name on there. Hey man, he's a real deal. I know there's quite a few truckers that get awarded this and it's quite a great privilege to be a part of that club, the camaraderie to be in that, and they call it the Matrix Club to be in that, and they call it the matrix club.
Speaker 1:And so imagine walking into your local saloon with your four million mile jacket on cowboy hat.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I got the cowboy hat walking in there.
Speaker 1:Got the bags that's for, that's for meal, right there, baby yeah, that's right, that sounds great.
Speaker 2:Look at him right there get him a cold one yeah, I gotta keep him going so you can get a million, billion, million billion. So what's the uh?
Speaker 1:do you know the what's the highest is there? I'm sure there's a record of, like, the guy that logs the most safety miles.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think the longer you work, the more you um more miles you put on, and so that calculation is based off of how many miles you travel in a year and he just times that. Man, it's uh, some truckers. Truckers was out there for, uh man I don't know, 50 years, 50, 60 years, crazy, yeah. So it says this award is a great way to honor the best in the industry. Driving safely is no easy task, especially considering its daily driving conditions like congestion, driver distractions and at its challenges of Minnesota winter. So having over 4 million safe driving miles is an outstanding accomplishment, as what President of MTA said there, john Hochschlagan. He says we're proud to award Roger with this achievement. Roger is a prime example of safe driving. We all got to aspire to be like Roger Zema, so big ups to Roger. Yeah, roger, way to go, yeah, man yeah, and being where he's at geographically.
Speaker 1:The weather up there is no joke.
Speaker 2:What's one safety rule you never break? I know for me. I got to check that fifth wheel when I'm coupled. I got gotta check that fifth wheel when I'm coupled. I gotta check that man. I don't want nothing scary like that going down the road in that trailer separate from the tractor that's not good. I don't care how stupid I look looking under there trying to figure out what's going on with that fifth wheel. Uh, I don't want to roll until I know what's going on.
Speaker 1:Man, yeah, I um fifth wheel is a big one for me. I even do a check on both sides of the fifth wheel when I'm pre-tripping, and I do the driver's side, then I walk around. I'll check again on the other side. Make sure there's no gap there, Make sure that lock is over. I think one of the biggest ones that I think I do and I don't know, if it's anything that you would, that you would necessarily, you know, check for, but it's just being prepared for work.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Just being rested. You know alert, mentally capable. You know just being prepared to drive.
Speaker 2:Yep. Sleep is important, good quality sleep, sleep is important, just even even deeper than sleep.
Speaker 1:You know, necessarily maybe not carrying over something that's going on in your personal life and just all that. I think that plays a big factor in everything. You know you're having a bad day, somebody cuts you off. You know you might react a little differently just because of what you're going through at home. You know you got a bad case of the screw-its and you know you might react differently because you're in this big truck you think about this guy from alabama.
Speaker 2:His name is uh eric zach rogers, from florence. Alabama truckload carriers association named him, um well, the highway angel. They call him because he helped an elderly woman who crashed her car while experiencing medical emergency, and roger uh works for a carrier express incorporated out of Madison, alabama, so they're calling him the the highway angel.
Speaker 1:Wow, great story what he just pulled over and helped the lady out.
Speaker 2:That's it. It says Roger was traveling along highway 72, just West of um. It looks like a town called Slayton, Slayton, Massachusetts, when a motorist crossed the lanes of traffic in front of him and ran off the road, she cut all the way over in front of me and then ran off the road and spun and slid, then came back across the highway and ended up in the ditch.
Speaker 2:Rogers says he stopped and went to assist the elderly female driver and her passenger. He found the driver convulsing so he called 911. She was just out of her mind. She couldn't talk. Her eyes were rolling back in her head. Rogers said I actually just held her and prayed because she reminded me of my grandmother and I knew that she was just probably somebody's grandmother. They probably weren't ready to lose her. He remained with her until the emergency services arrived and then completed his load. He says I feel like I did everything or anything. You know I didn't do anything special. He says I treated her like I would have wanted someone to treat my grandmother and they had the same situation there to help her. So what a guy, huh.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm sure she was happy he was there.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you got a picture of him smiling. He says happy to be on the road and helping people. Man, that's great. That's that story. Celebrate the wins, right. Also, you know you got the pop culture. You got Billy Ray Cyrus drama. His son is calling them out. You know these celebrity families are always a mess. Talking about family, you know we got a lot of people out there who care about their loved ones. But, man, can we get some normal drama for what's happening here? Because it's just normal drama for the public, right? Yeah?
Speaker 1:I mean, you know, I do. You know you hear a lot about celebrity. You know, emphasis on celebrity drama, you know. But you know we put a lot on these people to think that they're not just normal people. Right, I mean, they're all just normal folks. They just happen to got a boatload of money. I mean I don't know how many people that I know they got family drama but nobody cares because they broke.
Speaker 2:Yeah, everybody's going through it. Man, stuff happens. You know Stuff happens. I guess his wife Tish she filed for divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus. She's got to move on.
Speaker 1:Don't tell my heart I got achy breaking hot. I just don't think you'd understand. I hope nothing happens, man. I hope he ain't with Lil Nas X man.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was thinking. You know, maybe Nas is a home record, but we won't put that out there. Man Kept him too busy in the studio.
Speaker 1:Man that Lil Nas song he had when he had Lil Nas X and that verse he had in there. That was one of the bar for bar, that was some fire bars he had in that song. Yeah, billy Ray was doing it. Yeah, that's too bad. His daughter's doing all right. Everyone thought she was going to be the crazy one on everything.
Speaker 2:Huh, yeah, it was. I think it's Nora. Nora Cyrus calls Billy Ray Cyrus her hero as they team up for a new song.
Speaker 1:What's the other girl's name?
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's a lot of them. I'm looking at the picture here and he's got a big family family.
Speaker 1:He's blessed. What's the other uh?
Speaker 2:you know the girl, the singer. Yeah, miley, yeah, everyone thought she was gonna be crazy.
Speaker 1:I'm in there, yeah, you know, and they always say you know, you know, you get that money, you got that problem. I'd like to find out if I'd have that many problems. Just just give me a little bit of money to see if I, if I'd have that many more money, more problems.
Speaker 2:It's just hard to uh imagine. You know, we think it would make it better, but a lot of times it just makes people miserable. They look good being miserable. How about that?
Speaker 1:Well, you got everybody in your business. I'm sure if I had TMZ and everybody up my business they'd find something wrong with my family.
Speaker 2:Miley Cyrus says she and her dad have wildly different relationships to fame and success. That's neat seeing them together like that Father and daughter. You know me, I'm a daddy to fame and success. So they that's neat seeing them together like that, father and daughter. Um, you know me, I'm a. I'm a daddy, daughter, or daughter daddy, or whatever you want to say.
Speaker 1:Um, yeah, I'm in the same boat.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, man. So then you got uh, what else we got here? We got Demi Moore. Demi Moore. She's got some issues there where people don't think she deserves the you know the award. What was she in? I know she was GI Jane.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but that was so she's not getting an award for that. I mean, that was that was, that was back in the their senior hall show. I mean yeah, I mean she's got something going on. Now what award is she getting award? Is she getting A Lifetime Achievement Award?
Speaker 2:No man, it looks like Demi Moore's nomination due to. It looks like Demi Moore should not be nominated. She's deserving, she's not deserving of support. Boycott Demi Moore's. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I thought she was taking care of Bruce Willis because he got Alzheimer's, and she's the one taking care of him now.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't know if all this will make it in the podcast. Man, I'm at the editor's office. I have no clue what's going on with this. More, yeah, I mean, they want some more yeah, I have no idea either.
Speaker 1:I know I just seen a video of her a couple days ago on jaylen, or not somebody when she was doing jai jane yeah, he said I heard you could do one hand push-ups and she said yeah, I worked on it and he goes, well, can you do them right now?
Speaker 2:and she got down there and did one-handed push-ups really yeah I was thinking maybe they had a string on her back or something pulling her up no, she was doing the real thing, oh, yeah, yeah, demi more. So then we also got. What is this here? Golden Globe winners you watch the Golden Globe.
Speaker 1:Oh, you know me, you know, I didn't catch the Golden Globes.
Speaker 2:Me neither.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I always forget.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, that happened.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't watch too much TV. It's pretty much sports, sports and then followed by sports, and then the wife, if she wants to watch a show, I'll watch whatever she wants to watch.
Speaker 2:But no, we love people's accomplishments. I think they should be awarded. However, I don't think we should stop life just to see those awards all the time. There's always going to be another one next year and you can check out a lot of stuff on the internet. Catch up on it, you know shorts, pictures and clips.
Speaker 1:So yeah, what is the golden globe? Is just television, right? Uh motion picture oh, it is, I thought that was the academy. What is the academy awards?
Speaker 2:there's a lot of them. Yep, there's academy as well. There's golden globe. It's a, it's a little. It looks just like the statue or the award, looks just like the, the academy award, but the academy award is a little man and the Golden Globe is a globe that's on like somewhat of a pedestal. So they are similar in color and I can see how that could be confusing, but they are very different, yeah.
Speaker 1:So the Academy is received by the Academy. You know the people that are involved in this prestigious group right. And then the Golden Globes, I believe are from the editors and the writers, if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 2:Right, All right. Yeah, I don't know either man. I just I know what the ESPYs are.
Speaker 1:The ESPYs yeah, I know what that is.
Speaker 2:What's that?
Speaker 1:Oh, that's the Sport Awards.
Speaker 2:Yeah, is what's that?
Speaker 1:oh, that's the uh sport awards, yeah that's the sport awards by espn, you know?
Speaker 2:yeah, I know that that's a good one to cover. Gotta wait for that. When we talk about that, when it comes out, oh yeah, all right, man, that kind of wraps it up. Uh, you know, we hit a lot of topics. A lot of news talked about truck cargo theft. Uh, some incredible truckers out there making it happen.
Speaker 2:Of course, a little bit about the pop culture. It's really hard to keep up with that. It's always changing, ever, always. You know, there's always something new, ever-changing environment there. You got to be very adaptable to be in that environment and it can be tough on the families, just like trucking. Trucking can be tough on the families as well. So all the support groups that are out there for helping families. You got the wives. You got kids that are putting in time as well Not always easy without mom and dad always around. So make the best of it out there. Make your best decisions. If you're feeling bad about what you got, think about Southern California. You got a lot of people out there that lost a lot of their stuff in the fire. I mean, they just wish for something different, you know.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, that's uh be thankful for what you got.
Speaker 2:Thank you for what you got. Uh, so yeah, um, most importantly, let's keep on um looking out for those individuals out there. Do what we can Keep them in our thoughts.
