Speaker 1:

Welcome back to another episode of that's Delivered, a podcast where we dive into everything trucking, from life on the road to stories that keep us going. I'm your host, Trucking Ray, and today we have a bit of a different route we're taking. I think you're going to really appreciate it. As truckers, we spend a lot of time on the road and sometimes it can be tough, so finding voices that inspire us and help us to stay positive is key. That's why I'm thrilled to welcome Brittany Seal to the podcast today.

Speaker 1:

Brittany is a mom, a businesswoman and a motivator who is all about finding the brighter side of things in life and helping others do the same. Her TikToks are filled with positive energy, mindset tips and real talk about overcoming hard days and, let's be real, we all have those days out there on the road. So today we're diving into what keeps Brittany motivated and how she shifts her mindset from things when it gets tough, and how her messages can also resonate with all of us in the trucking community. So buckle up, let's dive into it. Hey, welcome to the show, Brittany. How are you doing?

Speaker 2:

I'm good. How are you?

Speaker 1:

All right. Well, I'm glad you're able to come on the podcast and help us with the positive message. I know that can be tough for a lot of people. Um, you know we're excited to have you here. And for those who may not know you, or can you tell us a little bit about yourself or how you got started in sharing the journey on TikTok and the positive message you have?

Speaker 2:

Um, I guess I got on TikTok maybe a year and a half ago. Um, I was always, you know, more into Facebook or Instagram, so I branched out. Um, I was always, you know, more into Facebook or Instagram, so I branched out. Um, I'm still kind of learning. There's there's a lot to tick talk, um, but it's cool, you know, just take a little time out of the day and explore something new, figure it all out, um, but I guess, like my whole you know, positivity, um, and mindset work started maybe 10 years ago.

Speaker 2:

Um, a friend of mine, she gave me a book and I guess it just kind of enlightened me on just sort of like the power of our minds. You know, uh, like something like you know, like we create our own reality. If you will, or we can shift our reality. You know, just because one bad thing happens to us in the morning, how we react to that can really affect the rest of the day. You know how we're perceiving things, how others perceive us and whatnot. So that kind of started that and just kind of read some more books and I just really focus on like what goes in my mind. You know, like the people that I follow on Instagram, the people, or I guess, I guess I should say the content that I consume. You know the TV shows that you watch, like the, the music that you listen to. You know like it's, it's really powerful, like that stuff that's going in your mind, like it really affects you.

Speaker 1:

So, true man, that's a great journey you started on, and I mean you get to share that with other people, you get to help people. I think that's great. So what has inspired you to start posting on TikTok in the first place?

Speaker 2:

I guess I don't know. Tiktok is just so different, for instance, from Instagram and the way that I try to explain it to people who aren't on TikTok. I'm like Instagram just seems so prim and proper and polished, you know, and then TikTok it's just so real and raw and honest and people share more of who they actually are, and so I guess I was just able to connect with real people. I can honestly say I've never I mean I've maybe made like four friends from Instagram. You know that aren't, you know people that live in my city. But on TikTok, like, I've made friends all across the United States and a few even in a different country people they're like I said, they're just more real, they're more honest and it's just easier to easier to connect with real people yeah, absolutely yeah.

Speaker 1:

I mean, that's, uh, one of the things that I liked about it as well. So was there a specific moment or event that, um, that pushed you to share your story, or to share more, or be more honest and raw with your audience?

Speaker 2:

um, no, definitely not like one, and it's definitely a process for me. Um, I do like that. You know you can go live on there and people can see you in real. You know in real time because someone can post a video. Um, you know a lot of my videos I'll kind of edit out my arms or my pauses or whatnot, kind of get straight to the point, and it's just whenever you're on live, you know, you get to see someone like the real deal, and so, just just for me, it's a little bit of a struggle, I guess, to share my real story in a post. So, you know, if, like, people ask me questions on live, like I'll answer it. You know just my normal essence, if you will.

Speaker 1:

So people just get to know me better that way? Yeah, absolutely so. Your content is all about staying positive, finding the bright side and even though things get tough you know you have tough days. What inspires you to keep your mindset, especially as a mom and a businesswoman? What helps you?

Speaker 2:

um, yeah, I mean it's, it's just, it's just a must. Um, you know, we can't get caught up like, yeah, little things are going to happen throughout the day. But I don't know, it's just something. That's just always been inside me and I can remember it from like back whenever I was a teenager. I specifically remember my mom and one of my best friends. They used to say things like, for instance, my mom would be like, oh, that's just my luck, or this always happens to me, and I'd be like, oh my God, don't say that, Stop. And I couldn't explain it back then. But now, you know, I talk to more people and, like I said, like read books and stuff, I'm like, oh, I get it, it's because your words have power. And, like my girlfriend, you know like you're like training yourself, you know telling the universe God whoever like okay, she's broke.

Speaker 2:

Like that's her story, you know. So it's like, stop telling yourself these stories. Like, yes, you're allowed to have a moment. Ah, dang to me. I'm like, but don't say it over and over again. Wow.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that repetitive motion, that's a. It's a lot to be said for that. I mean, when people want to do something better, they tell themselves great things over and over again. Where they rehearse something that helps them be able to flow and and get something out for an audience, you don't just get up on a stage and say a lot of bad things. Why do you tell yourself that? Right?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly, yeah, wow, yeah exactly. You wouldn't be telling other people this, so why are you telling yourself that that's?

Speaker 1:

it Exactly, man. Awesome. So your positive energy. I think that helps out for a lot of people when they're out there on the road. Man, you know, we could tell ourselves all kinds of things. You know so, but staying positive is something that needs to be learned and develop over time. How about? How do your kids influence your outlook on life and the positivity that you need to have? How do?

Speaker 2:

they help. Oh, he's a, he's a wild one, I don't know. You know, obviously, as a parent, like your kids are always. Your kids mimic your actions, not what you tell them, you know. So you really gotta, you really gotta just embody, or you know, just like, put forth those like positive actions rather than this is what you need to do.

Speaker 2:

This is what you need to do. You know, it's like those actions. So yeah, just being a good person, keeping a positive attitude, I want him to, you know, see that, I want him to feel that. So.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, you're a leader right there. That's good, and so do you have any personal experiences that really helped shape your positive mindset? I know you mentioned something when you're in your childhood, or was there any other experiences you want to share?

Speaker 2:

I mean nothing, nothing too crazy. I've just, I don't know, it's just always been, you know, kind of something. That's just, I guess, like resonated with me and I've always just had that like curiosity, that hunger, if you will just kind of like want, um, you know, more information, just to kind of like surround myself with it. So nothing too crazy.

Speaker 1:

And some of your videos you really open up about hard days. I think that sometimes truckers and listeners can resonate with that relate. Being out there on the road can get lonely and stressful. How do you push through those hard times? Is there something specific that when you're overwhelmed, that helps you?

Speaker 2:

specific that when you're overwhelmed, that helps you. I have to listen to things. I have a couple people like they have a podcast or, like I said, I'm really particular, you know, with the content that I consume. There's also a couple of apps, I think one's called like pep, like pep talk or something. But you know, I just it's like whenever I'm feeling stressed, feeling overwhelmed or feeling sometimes, you know, you get like that imposter syndrome, like, oh, I can't do this. You know whatnot. I just have to, I just have to pump myself up. I gotta go and listen to something. That's just really gonna, you know, rev me up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

There you go, all right.

Speaker 1:

I like that Rev you up.

Speaker 1:

You know, you know we have to feel. Um, truckers got to put their own diesel fuel in, right, so if we go empty, you know we don't have anything to keep us going. So, like you said, listening is almost like going to the fuel Island and filling up and keep them going that way, and so I like that. Um, you know, especially as an entrepreneur, um, you got your trailblazing a business woman. You know you're doing all those things that keep going for other people. You have to stay, stay fueled up, man, that's great. So how do you balance between struggles while staying positive for your audience when you're out there on those live and you keep that energy going, those live sessions and TikTok? How do you stay positive?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, you've got to understand. Um, you know it's. It's just kind of all about balance. Like not every day can be awesome, not every day, you know, can be even neutral. Like you're going to have some some, you're going to have some struggles, you're going to have some bad days. But whenever you have those struggles, like you have those bad days, that just makes those good days or those epic moments or those accomplishments like that much sweeter. You're like man, I survived through all these to get to here. You know it makes the high like that much sweeter.

Speaker 1:

I like that. Yeah, that natural high. One of the strategies you shared is listening, or listing 10 things to be grateful for to shift your mindset. Can you walk us through how that works for you and maybe give us some tips as to how to apply that when we're out there on the road?

Speaker 2:

a book, like my number one life-changing book that I read 10 years ago. It's called the Magic, but yeah, basically it's just a book about gratitude. It starts off with a quote. It says something like he who has will be given more and he who does not have, you know, whatever little he has will be taken from him. But whenever you add the word gratitude, then it makes sense. It's like he who has gratitude will be given more and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have gratitude, even what little he has, it will be taken from him. So kind of like an analogy.

Speaker 2:

Let's just say there's, um, you know, two three-year-olds in front of us and we give each one of them a fire truck, and one's like oh my gosh, thank you so much. And the other one's like. It's like who are you going to want to give more to? You know, the one that was grateful or the one that was like? You know, like that's what you have to think of, like like the universe or God or higher being, like, whatever your belief system is, you know, say thank you Like, oh my gosh, I have, and I have this home. You know, thank you so much for this home. It fits my son and I just perfectly. We love the neighborhood, you know. But whenever you say what you're grateful for and you attach why you're grateful for it, you can feel that feeling of gratitude greater and so that gets you in that energy of being grateful and, um, like by the law of attraction, you know, the more that you're in that feeling of gratitude, the more that you're going to attract other things to be grateful for.

Speaker 1:

Nice, it talks to the soul. Right, that's good, nice. Have you noticed any changes in your life since you started this journey with the gratitude and practicing those values?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, definitely, and it hasn't just been. You know, it's up and down, up and down I think things happen. But yeah, definitely, and it's not going to be like you know a snap of a finger. It's a journey. But definitely, whenever I'm in check with myself, you know, reminding myself just doing some journaling, doing some writing, just kind of getting in that good flow energy, then good things happen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's awesome. So running a business, being a mom, staying positive, that's a lot to juggle, what keeps you motivated and and all those things from getting burnt out. I mean, I mean some days you just want to just say, hey, I'm, I'm, I had enough right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah and and like, sometimes like that's OK. Like you know, prioritize yourself, prioritize your mental health. You know, take some breaks, do some little things. One of my very first friends that I made on Tik TOK Um, he is a recovering addict or alcoholic.

Speaker 1:

One of them anyways.

Speaker 2:

Um, you know, we were kind of both on Tik TOK. We, we were back then, we were racing. You know, oh, who's going to get to a thousand followers first, who's going to get to 2000,. You know, it was like friendly, you know, we'd help each other out, like, oh, I learned this editing trip trick, or you know, I learned this. We would just kind of help each other out. And then, um, you know, he just kind of went ghost and I was like, oh, this, I don't know this isn't good. And so, like, I'd message him, and I'd message him and message him.

Speaker 1:

And basically I was just relentless.

Speaker 2:

I just was message him all the time, just being nice, but I just wanted him to know that he had someone in his corner. Long story short, he had relapsed and then a couple months later he just sent me this really nice message. You know, basically he was just just saying thank you for being relentless and always messaging him, and it's like I just wanted to show him like, hey, you have someone in your corner, I care about you. I know you were, you know, wanting to do this TikTok thing and get it off, but yeah anyway. So he sent me a really nice message, and so that's the kind of thing that I kind of go back and look on whenever I am having a rough day. I'm like you don't have to. What am I trying to say? Help hundreds of people, thousands of people. But you know, just like even just seeing that text message from one person, just how like impactful that was, I'm like it just feels good.

Speaker 1:

That's a great story. I think everybody's going to like that one man and he's, he's continued.

Speaker 2:

He's continued on to his you know recovery journey and it's so funny he actually has more followers than me. He's doing good. He has this like recovery live. So, yeah, he's doing good.

Speaker 1:

So that's what's up. So you guys were racing too. I know you do those races.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. We were just, you know, being goofy, like oh, I bet I'm going to get 2000 followers before you. He's like no, I am, you know. So we were just being silly, and then by the end of the year. He had more than me. I was like dang, he beat me Good job.

Speaker 1:

Those are fun to watch, all those challenges and things that they do on TikTok, and that's great and that's that's a great story, that's a victory and it shows that what you're doing actually works. So when people are out there driving truck, we got to look out for each other too. I have this one thing that CBs were one of the first original social media platforms. So I don't know if you know CB radio. They put those in the truck. So yeah, I mean I kind of dated myself a little bit there. But yeah, you know, people used to check on each other and make sure you look out for each other. Man, that's awesome. Keep doing that. I really appreciate that. So your business mindset money mentor uh is all about helping people build a positive mindset around money and success. How did you come about that? What was the biggest uh lesson you've learned from growing your own business?

Speaker 2:

Um, I guess I just I, you know, I don't want anyone to ever feel, you know, like like they're stuck, you know, in a job, you know in a relationship, just in life. You know, I just I just kind of wanted to motivate people and like, hey, like you have interest in something, like try it, just just try it out. You know, I don't, yeah, that's my whole thing. I don't ever want someone just to feel stuck in a job that they hate, you know, relationship or whatnot. So that's just what I'm really trying to do. I just, you know, I just want to motivate people to go for it and it being whatever it is. Maybe it's something as simple as, oh, you want to learn how to play piano, I'm like come on like what's stopping you?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I have a podcast one day, see. Yeah, yeah, I mean you gotta gotta put yourself out there. I mean if you ever want to reach something, you gotta take the risk, right, take the risk it to get the biscuit and there's some quote like oh, you'll never be a graceful master if you're not a something beginner.

Speaker 2:

I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I like that one. That one sounds better than mine, all right. So for truckers out there feeling stuck whether you're in the mindset or career or personal life, that's something to definitely keep in mind. What's one piece of advice you would give or help truckers to stay on track, or individuals, what's something you would give to them and help them when they're out there on the road?

Speaker 2:

Well, you're in. You're obviously in a motor vehicle and you've got a lot of time to listen to things. So be very, very mindful of what you are listening to. You know, I know you know there's some fun music out there, but sometimes, like those lyrics are really really toxic. If you're just jamming those toxic lyrics, think about that you could be bringing more toxicity into you. Just be really, really mindful of the music that you're listening to, the podcasts that you're listening to, the pep talks. Like I said, it's all about balance. I'm not saying you have to listen to all the woo-woo stuff 24-7. That's crazy. Like it's all about balance. I'm not saying you have to listen to all the woo woo stuff 24 seven, like you know, like that's crazy, but you know it's all about balance. Just like, check in with yourself. Like what's my mood today? How am I feeling today? What do I really need? You know, just go from there.

Speaker 1:

Wow, that's awesome. You're a natural, so you've built a community of people who look to you for motivation. Who do you look to for motivation that inspires you, to give you that boost, to keep you filled up?

Speaker 2:

Have you heard of Rob Dial? No.

Speaker 1:

I haven't you haven't.

Speaker 2:

You should definitely check him out. I discovered him maybe eight years ago. He well I'm not exactly 100% sure how he started out, but I first found him from his podcast it's called the Mindset Mentor Podcast a life coach for a couple of years and now he's more along the lines of like business and then um teaching coaches how to build um a coaching career. But yeah, he's, he's definitely my most influential person I had to check him out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, put the link out there for for everyone else. Oh, man, that's important to have a support system and, man, you've definitely done that, building that as mentorship, right, you know. So I think that's going to help shape the path for a lot of people and for yourself. So, before wrapping up, is there anything you'd like to share with the trucking community? Maybe a message to keep people going out there on the road other than just inspiration, but maybe something that you can share from your personal life as well. Going out there on the road, um, other than just inspiration, but, uh, um, you know, maybe something that you can share from your personal life as well.

Speaker 2:

Um, yeah, I mean just just remember. You know, not every day is going to be a good day, not every day is going to be a bad day. Take the good with the bad. Um, and then sometimes you know we can't help. We can't help the things that happen to us, necessarily, but we absolutely, 100% we're in control of how we react to that. Are we going to let this taint our mood? If you will? Are we going to let this create a bad day? It's all about your response and how you react to things.

Speaker 1:

Nice response and how you react to things Nice, so yeah, so we got to feed our minds, get positive things, have variety, be choosy. I think those are all good advice. You know that you're putting out there for everybody, so thank you so much for doing that. And how can people learn more about your message and get in touch with you out there and in the social media world?

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, Just uh, Tik TOK or Instagram just Brittany underscore, seal underscore.

Speaker 1:

Nice, there you go. Make it, make it real simple. I like that. So, um, before we go, uh, all of those that are listening be sure to reach out to Brittany. Uh, we really appreciate you for joining the show and sharing your journey. You have a positive message, the mindset and the strategies that you have. I think it's exactly what kind of inspiration we need in the trucking community. So, for all our listeners out there, if you want more of Brittany's uplifting content, check her out on TikTok TOK at. Uh, brittany underscore seal and also your business. Uh, the mindset, money and mentor. How, how do we reach that?

Speaker 1:
